Portugal! A gallery and a historical fairytale

Updated: Sep 20, 2024

As someone who has been deeply connected to countries like Germany, France, Netherlands, I have decided to test my theory whether the European capitals are really becoming alike. To my surprise Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and member of the European Union since 1986, is far different in a beautiful way. There is so much historical virginity in this country or particularly city that it is hard to forget it. Contrary, the picture gets more interesting in your mind, the more time passes.

Four things that particularly got my attention:

  1. The scenery and the whole vibe of the city - it is a living gallery. One of the most beautiful and vibrant.

  2. The black community. The immigrants coming predominantly from Marocco and other African countries, are making almost half of the population I have seen in the old city. Possibly, how the future world will look like everywhere. The community is young and working and I hope that more jobs are offered and that they get the needed place in the development of Portugal.

  3. The virginity of women. Women there looked like coming from a movie in the 18s-19s. Natural.

  4. The historical landmarks are absolutely one of a kind. Portugal was the world's first maritime power and the birthplace to some of the world's first explorers. Portugal was at the forefront of European exploration in the 15th and 16th centuries. During the Age of Discovery, Ferdinand Magellan became the first person to circumnavigate the globe. The history brought and created still shines at every angle today to attract guests and tourists.

Going to Lisbon is a great story. Two days there - walking, climbing, coming down, cooling, heating, exploring, taking loads of beautiful pictures and getting around amazing landscapes. The surprise was that on the day two I was out with friends very early in the day which was the best decision I can make before the city was overwhelmed by so many people at noon time.

Now Ed-Mine is available in Portugal and we hope to expand our audience there since so many people seemed to be kind, welcoming and eager to develop their creativity and tap into unkown topics. It is a creative place, a living gallery. The more time flies, the more I adore Portugal.
