My debut book: Philosophy meets physics

Filled with roses and many thorns was the path to my first book. The many new roads I've taken, the completely new life for me, and waking up after a life full of work in the medical field was not easy, nor was it simple to write a whole book after my first essay article, also called "The Brighter Side of Civilisation and the Universe," which contained a little more than 3,000 words.

I remember celebrating my first 100 readers of this essay last December—the first article to reach this readership and a record of 409% more interest than my other articles. I was then working in management and helping at the only café in Berlin with a 360-degree view of the city and the fastest elevator in Europe. I was looking for better work, for funding for my blog page. I was part of a Start-Up Incubator, and not only this, but I had just found my apartment—10 days earlier than I needed to leave my old one.

Life was hectic and new, but since I returned to Berlin, my spirit and writing muse have been flowing super naturally, as if someone was giving me the words. My imagination for a better life was pouring into my writing. I had written 100 articles, but this one was special—I wrote it on the 19th of September 2024, on my birthday.

An interesting fact is that the photographs for the cover were taken back in spring 2025 in the Northwest of Germany. In particular, we liked the wind, the minty fresh air, and the noise of thousands of people walking to catch the sun alongside the River Rhine. The book also contains an art piece and another photograph taken in Boyana Church, in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, during the summer of 2024.

In this blog post, you will learn:

What is the meaning of my book to me?

It is a Representation of the world in its best form—morals, resilience, from first cities to the latest technologies, the bright sparks of our development onward that truly bring us forward—those moments we each cherish in every single life. The book is, fundamentally, a philosophical and scientific quest for meaning and enduring optimism.

It’s an active rejection of the prevailing cultural narrative that focuses predominantly on decline, conflict, and destruction. Instead, it champions the inherent resilience and creative potential of humankind. I see it as a detailed map tracing our development from those first incredible sparks—like the invention of fire or the establishment of the first democratic assemblies—up to the complex, boundary-pushing technologies of today.

From 35+ countries to the cosmos: Explore my modern philosophical guide to finding beauty and strength in the present. Learn why we must unite now.

The "Brighter Side of Now" is not about ignoring global challenges; it’s about acknowledging the exceptional nature of this moment in history. We possess unprecedented global communication, access to universal knowledge, and the scientific tools to tackle enormous problems. My book provides the philosophical framework to embrace this present reality, proving that the power of imagination is our greatest resource. By looking at ourselves as universal beings, we find a pathway toward a greater destiny where understanding and peace, symbolized by the "revelation of infinity," guide our forward progress. In a world oftne consumed by chaos, it is a manifesto of freedom, beauty, and universal hope.

Why I want all of my friends to read it?

This book is a shared investment in our collective future. I want my friends to read it because the strength of a person is measured by the strength of their surrounding community, and I believe in the extraordinary potential of our group.

I see this book as a catalyst for profound personal expansion. It isn't just reading; it's an opportunity to engage with concepts of physics, history, and philosophy that will fundamentally reshape how you see your own day-to-day life and the vast sweep of human endeavor. By internalizing these ideas—about our innate power and the beauty of creation—my friends will not only improve their own trajectory but also become more potent, positive forces in the world. When our immediate group of friends and family elevate their perspective, the impact ripples outward, enriching the larger social structures and communities we all engage with. This book is a tool for us to grow together and become more effective, optimistic agents of change in society.

Where is this book positioned?

The book is deliberately interdisciplinary, serving as a bridge between the rigorous methodology of science and the reflective depth of philosophy.

While it delves into cutting-edge physics—exploring concepts like the origins of the universe, time, and the potential of quantum theory—it avoids dense academic language. My goal was to write a book that a scientist can respect and a lay reader can enjoy and understand. The core positioning is in Cosmological Philosophy—it uses proven scientific facts about the universe's vastness and timeline to inform our philosophical understanding of human significance.

The chapter on history is not a dry timeline; it's a celebration of human ingenuity. It focuses on the birth of standards, the evolution of morals, and the moments when humanity took great leaps forward. It ties these historical "bright sparks" directly to our future trajectory, arguing that the wisdom gained from past civilizations (both successful and forgotten, like certain matriarchal cultures) holds the key to our cosmic potential. It is ultimately a book about applied knowledge: taking the best of what we know in science and history and applying it to live a more conscious, purposeful, and universal life today.

What makes it unique from others?

The uniqueness of The Brighter Side of Civilisation and the Universe lies in its highly personal, yet globally informed perspective.

Unlike traditional historical or philosophical texts that are often purely academic, this book is a true product of fieldwork and global immersion. My experience working and living in over 35 distinct countries and cultures allowed me to observe the core, unifying forces of humanity firsthand—the hopes, struggles, and innovations that transcend borders. This is not theory; it is verified human observation woven into a grand scientific narrative.

The central distinction is its unwavering focus on the Ultimate Value of Life. I argue that our existence is not a statistical accident but a singular, magnificent event in the cosmos. The book urges the reader to shift their focus from existential despair to profound gratitude and immediate action. By constantly asking "What is important?" and focusing on the beauty that is "right here"—in nature, in human connection, in the brilliance of our own minds—it acts as a powerful counter-narrative to cynicism. It is a unifying call to action, compelling us to channel our individual and national strengths toward a shared, optimistic future.

My book's path forward...

My book's ultimate goal is to become a bestseller in multiple languages. After a successful first 100 sales, we will start translations to other languages to be able to more profoundly touch each and every unique soul in this world, for our languages hide unique ways of being able to talk to us and are powerful cultural tools to engage with our environments. My book envisions that this might be just the first of its kind, and the study of civilization, progress, and the universe shall continue; therefore, a second edition might be visible in two years from now. I want to see the book everywhere, on windows. I want to see it with children, with young people, with my friends, young and adult. Very soon, there will be an audiobook for the same edition so that everyone can have a gentle listening experience accompanying the paperback and the e-pub edition, to remind them about the bright sparks that surround us, our historical wisdom, and motivations forward.

German Text and English Translation

„The Brighter Side of Civilisation and the Universe“ ist kein gewöhnliches Sachbuch, sondern ein handwerklich produziertes Künstlerbuch in limitierter Auflage.

English Translation:

"The Brighter Side of Civilisation and the Universe" is not a usual non-fiction book, but rather a hand-crafted, limited edition art book. It combines philosophical essay writing, cosmological contemplation, and aesthetic design to create an optimistic manifesto for our times.Across 7 chapters, the often-invoked darkness of the present is illuminated—and on the other side, a radiant spectrum becomes visible: from the invention of fire to the discovery of exoplanets, from forgotten matriarchal cultures to the latest findings in quantum physics. The book shows that civilisation and the universe shine brighter not despite, but precisely because of their discontinuities and fractures. With this work, I aim not only to sell on the art market but to spark conversations about hope, science, and beauty—precisely the spirit that your visitors value.
